About Casey Lynn Covel

Casey Lynn Covel is a Christian, writer, reviewer, and media critic, currently writing multiple novels and contributing weekly articles to online publications. She has been telling stories long before she could write words, and continues to pursue her passion for writing through speculative fiction, poetry, non-fiction, editorials, and critical reviews. When Casey is not actively writing, she can be found reading, cosplaying, designing graphics, managing her blog, critically editing the works of others, consuming geeky media, and participating in other activities that stimulate her creativity.


Casey has been published both in print and online. Her publication credits include the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Athenian newsletter, the Note Bene, ChristianAnswers.net, the iCosplay Magazine, and KHInsider.com. In 2013, her poem “Genuine” received the Ewing Citation Scholarship and was chosen from among over eight hundred other submissions considered for publication by the Note Bene. Casey also received the Brevard Community College’s annual Communications Award for her writing accomplishments in 2011.


In the spring of 2013, she graduated from Brevard Community College with her AA degree. During her enrollment at BCC, she served as the webmaster and blogger for the PTK: Alpha Alpha Kappa chapter for two years. Casey has received numerous scholarships through her essay writing, including the Cocoa Cola Gold Scholarship and the 1st All State Florida Academic Team Scholarship.


Casey recently graduated from the University of Central Florida where she completed a BA degree Human Communication and personally pursuing a career in fictional writing. She runs a writing blog called Meek-Geek (currently on hiatus), which has over two thousand followers across her Facebook and tumblr networks. She has received professional training through the Florida Christian Writer’s Conference (which she attends annually) and multiple writing workshops. Casey currently writes monthly for the Geekdom House, Beneath the Tangles, and FROM JAPAN, and is editor-in-chief at Geeks Under Grace.
